The issue of salary and allowances for the president, vice-president and the members of the Maldives Media Council were tabled on the 9th meeting of 17th People's Majlis.

According to the article 19 of the Maldives Media Council law the salary and the other allowances must be decided by the People's Majlis.

The issue has been now sent to the financial committee of the Majlis. This was suggested by the member for Hulhu-henveiru constituency Moosa Manik. And it was supported by the member for Kendhoo constituency Ahmed Thasmeen Ali.

No vote was asked on the issue because there was no objection for the issue on sending it to the financial committee of the People's Majlis.
