The National Bureau of Classification is a body that has been brought into existence on the 29th December 2005 to carry out the tasks previously performed by the Film Censor Board and the tasks currently assigned to the Ministry of Information and Arts which are relevant to such a bureau. The National Bureau of Classification is a section of the Ministry of Information and Arts. It has a separate budget and a separate building. The work of the bureau shall be conducted at a separate office in the manner of other offices currently run under the Ministry of Information and Arts. The head of the bureau shall be the Minister of State of Arts.
